EU-funded CREDIT project releases ICT platform for circular remanufacturing. The Horizon Europe-funded CREDIT project has released its ICT platform for managing industrial data across circular manufacturing environments. The platform supports digital twins, decision support systems and real-time data monitoring across diverse manufacturing sites.
The CREDIT project, a 5.6 million euro initiative led by Spanish engineering company Idener, brings together 11 partners from the EU and Turkey to develop digital tools for circular remanufacturing across industries including white goods, automotive, telecommunications and aerospace. The platform uses a layered modular architecture with a semantic modelling service that allows industrial partners to create tailored data spaces, modelling machines, sensors, processes and materials in their own operational context.
Alvaro Fernandez, a member of the CREDIT project coordination team, said: “This fully operational version of the tool gives us the opportunity to learn from real data, real constraints and real users, and that feedback is essential to continue building a robust platform that can scale across Europe’s manufacturing ecosystem.”
The UK processed 4.013 million tonnes of waste wood in 2025, 89 per cent of the total generated, according to annual statistics from the Wood Recyclers' Association. The figure is down 7.3 per cent on 2024 after unplanned outages at end-use plants created oversupply and squeezed storage.
recell.store, the Altilium-owned marketplace for used EV batteries, has partnered with testing firm ClearWatt to offer battery health assessments to salvage yards and dismantlers. A pilot will use ClearWatt's EV Flash Test to generate independent health data supporting marketplace transactions.
Packaging firm Pact Group has invested in Plan B Circular, the UK textile-to-textile polyester recycler behind Project Re:claim, its joint venture with the Salvation Army Trading Company (SATCoL). The deal aims to scale polyester recycling ahead of EU legislation expected in 2028.
