ClearWatt's EV Flash Test connects a diagnostic device to the vehicle, paired with an app, to capture diagnostic signals and produce an independent battery health report. The data is intended to identify which batteries are suitable for repair, reuse or repurposing into second-life applications such as battery energy storage systems, or for recycling to recover critical materials.

ClearWatt's technology is already used by car dealers, leasing companies and fleet operators across the UK, and the company says dealer deployments show an average three to four day reduction in time to sell. recell.store, the UK's first online marketplace for end-of-life EV batteries, is backed by clean technology group Altilium.

Project Re:claim recycles post-industrial and post-consumer polyester textiles into recycled PET pellets that can be spun back into yarn, with trials underway at spinners and fabric mills internationally. SATCoL is the UK's largest charity-owned textiles collector, processing 77,000 tonnes a year. The partnership will also evaluate expansion into Asia and other markets.

According to WRAP, the UK generated 1.45 million tonnes of used textiles in 2022, of which only 1 per cent is recycled back into textile products, with most incinerated or sent to landfill. Pact Group, an Australian recycler and packaging manufacturer, already runs a global garment hanger reuse business across the fashion supply chain.

The project runs from 2026 to 2028 with a total budget of EUR 3.2 million, funded by Innovation Fund Denmark through the TRACE programme. Flexible plastics account for nearly half of all plastic packaging on the European market but are often incinerated or downcycled because they combine multiple polymer layers, barrier films, inks and adhesives that resist conventional mechanical recycling. InFACT combines several recycling technologies and is designed to help industry meet the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, which entered into force in February 2025 and tightens recyclability and recycled content requirements by 2030.

The 16 partners span the value chain from collection to retail: Nestlé Danmark, BKI foods, Hilton Foods Denmark, Cloetta, the City of Copenhagen, Interzero, TotalEnergies, Fraunhofer IVV, ARCUS Greencycling Technologies, Re:Lab, Topsoe, Coveris, Dapofa, the University of Southern Denmark, VANA and project lead Danish Technological Institute.

The expansion would raise the 15.8-hectare site's capacity for local residual waste from 60,000 to 105,000 tonnes a year, with more recoverable material removed before non-recyclable waste is converted into electricity and heat. Eco says the facility would generate enough energy to heat and power more than 14,000 homes a year, with green waste and wood waste recycling capacity each rising by 5,000 tonnes. The scheme includes around 30 jobs and a new visitor and education building.

Mike Eborne, Eco's technical development director, said the scheme would help the company recycle more local material and recover valuable resources. A public consultation was held at the site on 1 May, and if the application is approved, construction could begin in 2029.
